We are a Campaign Group founded on 3rd November 2021 to oppose and challenge a large scale planning proposal which included erecting 990 high rise flats in the middle of Orpington High Street.
We have 2500 members in our Facebook Group – Nuts To The Walnuts
Throughout our campaign we were successful in encouraging residents to comment on the planning application and 3700 objections were lodged which represented 96% of ALL comments made.

This was the developers vision for Orpington
3rd October 2022, known as National U Turn Day (mini budget withdrawn) the developer withdrew their application.
That is the good news. We are now awaiting a revised application.

29th March 2023 Areli puts Orpington Leisure complex on the market for £13 million.
Areli Real Estate is looking to sell Crown House, Orpington. Crown House is part of the wider Walnuts Shopping Centre. It includes the seven screen Odeon cinema and PureGym. Other tenants include restaurants Nando’s, Taco Bell and Tamak and retailers B&M, Kutchenhaus and Cards Direct.

0n the 29.09.23 Redcliff Cap formerly Areli Finance advised through the local newspaper that they were to begin fresh consultations regarding the future of The Walnuts Shopping Centre. They have engaged 2C as the architects and AND London as the consultants. Further information as well as links to their websites can be found under the Information Tab.
